Implementation Audit
Checks the step skipped more often than any other in the benefits cycle: whether what the client approved is what actually got implemented. Billed rates, enrollment counts, payroll deductions, and issued plan documents are reconciled against the approved terms, every variance is quantified in dollars, and corrections are grouped by the party that has to make them.
What goes in
The client, the plans in scope and the effective date of the approved change, the approved-terms document (a signed renewal decision, an approved rate and contribution schedule, or a plan change confirmation), and the as-implemented evidence — the first invoice on the new terms, the carrier eligibility or enrollment report, the payroll deduction register for the first affected pay period, and the issued SBCs, policy or certificate, and ID cards.
What you get
An Implementation Audit Report as a Word document: the audit scope and mode, the approved versus as-implemented comparison by plan and coverage tier, the enrollment and eligibility reconciliation, the payroll deduction reconciliation, the plan provision, effective date, and issued artifact audit, the item ledger with a status for every item, each variance written out with its approved term, as-implemented value, difference, annualized impact, and required correction, the overall verdict with the total annualized variance split between employer and employee, and correction requests grouped by responsible party.
How it works
- 1Establish the audit: confirm the client, plans in scope, effective date, what was approved and where it was recorded, and which post-implementation documents exist.
- 2Extract both sides: the approved terms — rates, contributions, plan design, effective date — and the as-implemented evidence from the first invoice, carrier eligibility report, payroll register, and issued documents.
- 3Reconcile: billed rates against approved rates, enrollment counts across every source, and payroll deductions against the approved contribution structure.
- 4Classify and quantify: every audited item gets a clear status, and every variance shows the approved term, the implemented value, the annualized dollar impact, and the correction required.
- 5Deliver: an Implementation Audit Report as a Word/PDF document with the overall verdict, the total exposure split between employer and employee, and ready-to-send correction requests grouped by responsible party.
