Loss Run Analysis
Builds the loss summary an account team needs at renewal or a stewardship review: extracts every claim from the carrier loss runs, computes the metrics in deterministic code — per-year loss ratio, frequency, severity, large losses, cause mix, open reserves — and fills a multi-tab Excel workbook with one sheet per line of business, native charts, and an evidence-cited findings narrative.
What goes in
One or more carrier loss runs (PDF or Excel), the premium and exposure basis per policy year for each line of business, and the client, lines of business, policy years, valuation date, and carrier by year. The large-loss and high/low-cost thresholds default sensibly and stay editable; the workbook template is loaded automatically and never needs to be uploaded.
What you get
A loss summary Excel workbook — one Single-Coverage sheet per line of business with live formulas, cost-at-deductible tables and four native charts, plus one shared claims tab carrying every claim with its source page — alongside an evidence-cited findings narrative and an internal review report.
How it works
- 1Set the scope: the client, lines of business, policy years and valuation date, the premium and exposure basis per year, and the large-loss and cost thresholds are confirmed up front.
- 2Read the loss runs: each carrier loss run is read claim by claim in parallel, and every claim keeps its source page so any number in the workbook traces back to the row it came from.
- 3Reconcile: the extracted chunks are merged deterministically and row counts checked against the total — an unreadable row stays in the data with a flag, and a merge that does not reconcile stops the run.
- 4Build the workbook: one sheet per line of business, every per-year figure computed by code, with totals, loss ratios and charts recomputing live — verified by reopening the recalculated file.
- 5Analyze: the findings narrative is read off the computed workbook — trend, large losses, repeat-offender locations, cause mix, open reserves — every claim-level statement citing claim number and page.
